Day 1
Day 1: Yangon Arrival

Welcome to Myanmar!

Upon your arrival today, our Authentic Asia Tour guide and driver will welcome you at Yangon international airport for your hotel transfer.

The remainder of the day is left for your leisure.

This evening, we will visit Shwedagon pagoda, the biggest stupa in the country. This pagoda is believed to shrine many Buddha relics including teeth and hair. Spend your time to pray at the different chambers.

Day 2
Day 2: Yangon -Pyaw Bwe Gyi - Yangon

Today, we cross Yangon river, following the historic journey undertaken by a 37-year old Sayagyi U Ba Khin and head across Rangoon River, then proceed a further 8 miles south to the home village of Saya Thet Gyi. We will see the original tazaung where he first taught meditation and then go to Anauk Monastery where he later moved to, among other village sites connected to his life.

Day 3
Day 3: Yangon - Golden Rock

This morning, depart from Yangon for a trip to Kyaikhtiyo.

En route, we will explore the local market of Thanatpin then capture the Mon village arises amongst the green rice fields as we take a longtail boat. After lunch, we head to Kin Pun base camp to change our mode of transfer to an open truck.

After 11km, we will arrive at Kyaikhtiyo pagoda. The Golden Rock is known as the most sacred Buddhism site which attracts millions of pilgrimage every year. The pagoda is famed for a giant rock seat balanced precariously on the edge of a cliff.

Day 4
Day 4: Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon

Early riser can behold a beautiful sunrise from the top of Golden Rock this morning. After breakfast, we head back to Bago, one of the richest archeological sites in Burma. Your orientation discovery of Bago commences with the 55m reclining Buddha Shwe Tha Lyaung then Shwemawdaw pagoda. After lunch, we will see how local artisan produce silk in a typical Mon weaving village. Transfer to your hotel for your personal leisure.

Day 5
Day 5: Yangon - Mandalay

We depart early from Yangon for a short flight to Mandalay.

Our program in Mandalay includes Dhamma Mandapa, a downtown Vipassana center then Maha Bodhi Meditation Center, in the Saya Thet Gyi tradition.

Other remarkable sightseeing also takes you to the grand Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, where Goenkaji got his first taste of the Dhamma; and Shwegyin Monastery, the oldest and most important monastic site of the former royal capital. “

Day 6
Day 6: Mandalay - Yaytagone Taung Center

After breakfast at your hotel, taking a car drive to Dhamma Mandala, which is located in the countryside here in “Waterfall Mountain”. This Vipassana center is home to some special monasteries.

Return to Mandalay in late afternoon.

Day 7
Day 7: Mandalay - Monywa

Today, we travel from Mandalay toward the lower part of Irrawaddy River. After lunch, start your visit at Mohnyin Monastery, one of the first “meditation monasteries” of the 20th century, founded and taught by Ledi Sayadaw’s most important monastic disciple. We also spend tie to admire the magnificent Bodhi Ta Htaung Monastery, which similarly began as a meditation site and today has some of the largest Buddha images of the world.

Day 8
Day 8 : Monywa

Monywa is one of the most famous sites for any Myanmar Pilgrimage Tour. It is home to many sacred monasteries and Buddha relics. The first stop for this day is the Ledi Sayadaw Forest Monastery, which was built in 1887.

Your guide will take you to many other pagodas before you settle for the sunset meditation at Shwe Taung U pagoda.

Day 9
Day 9: Monywa - Ingyinbin

The destination of this morning is Sain Pyin Village where Ledi Sayadaw was born. After that, we travel onward to Ingyinbin to participate the mediation at Webu Monastery. The advantage of this day is the meeting with local senior monks.

Day 10
Day 10: Ingyinbin

You will take part in one of the best meditation course or have time to rest to experience the relaxing atmosphere of Ingyinbin. Our guide is available to help you enjoy some talks with senior as well novice monks.

Day 11
Day 11: Ingyinbin - Shwebo

We leave Ingyinbin to see Webu Sayadaw`s third monastery. This holy site was established in 1940 and features great meditation area.

On the way to Sagaing, we will drop by Kaung Hmu Daw pagoda.

Day 12
Day 12: Sagaing

The tour today brings you to Prekhemma Monastery, one of the oldest structures which boasts the history of almost 1,000 years. Afterward, Htut Kaung Monastery which supports female monastics and Sitagu centers are two important sites you will not miss during the visit in Sagaing.

Another monastery which is very impressive is Mo Kaung Chaung. This is the place where vipassana courses in the traditional of Saya Thet Gyi is run.

Head to Mandalay city for your leisure

Day 13
Day 13: Mandalay City Tour - Return to Yangon

Your Mandalay Tour starts after the breakfast with a visit to  Mahamuni pagoda, home to the most reverted Buddha images in the country. From here, your tour brings you to a traditional workshop where kalaga tapestries are made. Mandalay is also the city where gold leaf, wood carving works flourish … you will have chance to observe the whole process of both two works this morning.

The sightseeing in the afternoon focuses on Mandalay’s must-sees covering Kuthodaw pagoda which houses 729 stone slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures, Shwenandaw monastery, one of the most frequently visited site for pilgrimage.

Head to the airport for the flight back to Yangon

The day is left free for your own exploration of Yangon.
